What's the difference between toughend glass and laminated glass?

Toughend Textured Glass Options

Every door that we supply comes with toughened glass as standard. That is traditionally the rule across the industry; however, some companies may supply standard float glass instead, which would be incorrect.

If you're also in the market for a new door, sometimes the incorrect glass is supplied to produce a cheaper all-round quote, making the offer look more appealing.

The double-glazed glass we supply as standard is referred to as 4/20/4 toughened. This consists of a piece of 4mm toughened glass, a 20mm black warm-edge spacer (the gap between your double-glazing unit), and another 4mm piece of toughened glass.

Laminated Tough Textured Glass!

Every door that we supply can be upgraded with laminated textured glass for added security and style. While standard toughened glass is strong, laminated glass provides an extra layer of protection, as it holds together when shattered rather than breaking into sharp pieces.

Some companies may supply non-laminated glass to cut costs, but this compromises security and durability. Laminated glass consists of two layers of glass bonded with a protective interlayer, making it highly resistant to impact and forced entry.

Textured laminated glass not only enhances security but also improves privacy while allowing natural light to enter. It’s an excellent choice for those who want to maintain security without sacrificing aesthetics. Whether you’re looking for a modern or traditional style, our range of textured glass designs can complement any door.
