• Door leaf (surface): Clean with warm water or non-aggressive composite door wipes only. Do not use solvents, bleach, or abrasive pads as they can damage the skin.

• Glass: Wash with warm, soapy water and finish with a quality glass cleaner for a streak-free shine.

• Weather seals & gaskets: Wipe clean with a damp cloth to prevent dirt build-up and ensure a proper seal.

• Hardware:

  • Hinges – lubricate annually with light engineering oil.

  • Lock cylinders – use Teflon-based lubricants only.

  • Handles, knockers, and letterplates – apply a small amount of lubricant if movement becomes stiff.

• Drainage slots: Check and clear any debris from threshold or frame drainage slots to prevent water build-up.

• Avoid impact & heat exposure: Do not hang heavy items (like wreaths with nails/screws) or expose the door to excessive heat (e.g., BBQs or heaters placed too close).
